David’s practice covers a broad range of state and federal litigation involving complex commercial transactions, fraud, defamation, intellectual property, regulatory compliance, unfair competition, and employment.  David has managed all phases of litigation, has handled several jury and non-jury trials, and has submitted appeals to the California Courts of Appeal and Supreme Court, and the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals.  David also serves as outside general counsel for a variety of businesses in Southern California.  In this capacity, he regularly advises clients on issues relating to contracts, licenses, intellectual property, privacy, and regulatory compliance. David has written numerous articles concerning areas of law that he specializes in, including the cover article “Out of the Courts” for Los Angeles Lawyer magazine.  Prior to joining The Internet Law Group, he worked at Katten Muchin Rosenman LLP and Anglin, Flewelling, Rasmussen, Campbell, & Trytten LLP.  David is licensed to practice law in California and Washington, D.C.

In addition to practicing law, David has taught it.  For over ten years, he has served as an Adjunct Professor at California State University, Northridge, where he has led two different business law courses for students in the College of Business and Economics.  David has also served as a Temporary Judge for the Los Angeles County Superior Court, and as a volunteer Neutral Arbitrator for the State Bar of California’s Mandatory Fee Arbitration program.

David graduated cum laude from Duke University with a bachelor’s degree in Philosophy.  He earned his law degree from USC Law School where he served on the Southern California Law Review.

David begins every year expecting the Dodgers, Lakers, USC football, and Duke basketball to win championships, and when they don’t, he likes to take his frustration out on the golf course.
